77 Percent of websites with malware are legitimate sites

Malware Sites
If a website has malicious software (malware) on it, there is a 77 percent chance that the site is a legitimate site that has been compromised according to Websense. In other words, when a cyber criminal injects malware on a website, nearly 4 our of 5 cases do it on a legitimate website. Hackers of course prefer to do this because then they can get all the normal patrons of that website to get infected rather than hosting their own site and having to lure unsuspecting users to it (which is considerably more complex and not as lucrative).
